Realistic Driving Practice Before & Between Behind-the-Wheel Lessons
Driving Simulator Practice

Allied Driving School offers Driving Simulator Practice for students who want additional driving experience in a controlled environment before and between behind-the-wheel driving lessons.

Our driving simulator allows students to practice common driving situations using a force-feedback steering wheel, accelerator, brake, clutch, gear shifter, and large curved driving display.

Driving Simulator Practice supplements behind-the-wheel instruction by giving students additional opportunities to practice vehicle control, traffic awareness, decision-making, and hazard recognition without the pressure of driving in actual traffic.

Students can use the simulator before beginning behind-the-wheel lessons, between lessons, or whenever additional driving practice is needed.

Our driving simulator gives students an opportunity to practice a variety of driving skills and situations, including:

  • Steering and vehicle control

  • Accelerator and brake control

  • Lane positioning

  • Left and right turns

  • Intersections

  • Traffic signals and stop signs

  • Right-of-way situations

  • Lane changes

  • Mirror and blind-spot awareness

  • Following distance

  • Speed management

  • Pedestrian and cyclist awareness

  • Freeway driving and merging

  • Hazard recognition

  • Defensive driving

  • Driving in traffic

  • Different road and weather conditions

  • Automatic transmission operation

  • Manual transmission and gear-shifting practice

A Controlled Environment for New Drivers

Beginning drivers must learn to operate a vehicle while simultaneously watching traffic, maintaining lane position, controlling speed, checking mirrors, identifying hazards, and responding to traffic signals.

Driving Simulator Practice gives students an opportunity to become familiar with these tasks in a controlled setting.

Driving situations can be repeated, allowing students to spend additional time practicing areas they find difficult before applying those skills on the road.

Automatic & Stick Shift Practice

Our driving simulator can be configured for both automatic and manual transmission practice.

For manual transmission practice, students can use a clutch pedal and H-pattern gear shifter to become familiar with clutch operation, gear selection, shifting sequences, and coordinating the clutch and accelerator.

Simulator practice allows students to become familiar with the basic operation and sequence of driving a manual-transmission vehicle before applying those skills in an actual vehicle.

Practice Important Driving Skills

Driving Simulator Practice can reinforce many of the same driving concepts students work on during behind-the-wheel instruction. Students can practice applying these concepts repeatedly in different simulated traffic situations.

✅Acceleration

✅Vehicle controls

✅Lane positioning

✅Basic driving procedures

Between Driving Lessons

✅Reinforce skills covered during your previous driving lesson

✅Practice steering, lane positioning, turns, and intersections

✅Work on lane changes, following distance, and speed control

✅Practice hazard recognition and defensive driving

Before a DMV Road Test

Get additional practice with:

✅Traffic awareness
